Andy – F4H 44
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”.
C. S. Lewis
Having had little or no experience of what F4H was or what it could or would offer me ensured I arrived at Brathay Hall, on the banks of lake Windermere, with an open mind and a willingness to ‘act like a sponge’ and take away as much information as I could; helping me, I hoped, with my transition in to civilian life.
The demographic of the 11 individuals within the group were extremely varied and interesting; with every single member having something to contribute and offer other group members.
The structure and make-up of the course ensured an extremely interactive, thought provoking and enjoyable 4 days. The F4H trainers were extremely professional, being respectful, understanding and due to their own previous military experience they were able to empathise and connect with all group members.
I personally enjoyed interacting with such a diverse and interesting group. The F4H programme allowed open, frank and honest discussion, which I believe was a real positive and inspiring element of the course; tears were shed, support was given and positive reinforcement was gained.
The programme, for me personally, confirmed that I wish to pursue a career path in which I can help others reach their own personal goals and aspirations. Since my attendance on F4H 44 I have enrolled on a teaching course and the future is bright!
Many thanks to all at Remount and in particular all members of the F4H 44 group!
