F4H courses are definitely worth taking part in, even if you don’t think you need any of the classroom work, as I did, but they turned out to be very useful.
The session where we learnt about how to phrase ours skills for job hunting were particularly useful, even though I thought I already had a good CV!
The physical activities can be as hard or as easy as you like, and if you are a scaredy pants like me, then it’s all the more reason to go.
I managed things I never thought I would, with help from the instructors and other members of the course. You are not pushed to do anything you don’t want to, and it is good to be around other military people again for a few days.
It is long days, but it is worth it, and the pre-breakfast energizer is not as bad as it sounds. The food in the dining hall is absolutely amazing, it’s hard not to pig out!
The location itself is amazing, I wish I’d had more time to explore. I definitely recommend this course for all ex-military, no matter what your background, as there is always going to be at least one part of the course that will help change your life
